発想の原点は徹底的に獅子舞という専門性を追求してマニアになることによって、町が今までと違った景色に見えてくるという面白さでした。メンバーの稲村行真は日本全国500件以上の獅子舞という民俗芸能を調査・研究してきました。日本には7000以上の地域で獅子舞が存在し、地域の気候や地形などに影響を受けながら、異なる舞い方やデザインが確立されました。それが地域共同体の中で受け継がれているのが特徴です。

The origin of the idea was to thoroughly pursue the specialty of lion dance and become a maniac, and it was interesting to see the scenery of the town in a different way than before. Member Yukimasa Inamura has investigated and researched more than 500 shishimai folk performing arts all over Japan.There are lion dances in more than 7,000 regions in Japan, and different dance styles and designs have been established, influenced by the climate and topography of each region. It is characteristic that it is inherited in the local community.

新型コロナウイルスの流行の中、祭りは相次いで中止。獅子舞ができなくなってしまいました。その一方で、さまざまな町を訪れた際に、獅子舞の舞い歩く姿を妄想するようになりました。
The festival was canceled one after another due to the epidemic of the new coronavirus. I can no longer perform the lion dance. On the other hand, when I visited various towns, I began to fantasize about lion dances.

獅子舞の視点で景色を眺めてみると、町の中でも居心地の良し悪しがあります。これは時間の余白、空間の余白、経済的な余剰、地域共同体の存在、受け入れの寛容さなどを表します。
また、私たちの視点は伝統的な獅子舞のあり方を肯定も否定もしません。地域を転々と取材することで得られた知見を生かし、神出鬼没に遊び感覚で町に獅子舞を出現させ舞い歩くことに快感を覚えるようになりました。伝統的な獅子舞を個人のアクションとして解放することで、極めて自由な獅子舞づくりが可能となります。
このようなカジュアルな側面を保持して、さまざまな土地に滞在し、多様な環境における経験を蓄積していくことで、地域の暮らしに対する新しい普遍性と機能の発見に結びつくと考えています。

If you look at the scenery from the lion dance's point of view, there are good and bad things to do in the town. This represents margins of time, margins of space, economic surplus, existence of local communities, openness of acceptance, and so on.
Also, our point of view neither confirms nor denies the traditional lion dance. Utilizing the knowledge gained by researching various areas, I came to feel the pleasure of making lion dances appear in the town as if they were playing. By liberating the traditional lion dance as an individual action, it is possible to create a lion dance extremely freely.
We believe that maintaining this casual side, staying in various places, and accumulating experiences in diverse environments will lead to the discovery of new universality and functions in local life.
